Privacy statement
Plain English, because you should be able to read this in two minutes.
What we collect
The property address you enter, the details you give us about the home (type, bedrooms, bathrooms, garaging, land and floor area), any improvements you tell us about, the reason you asked for an update, and your contact details — first name, email and mobile. If you arrived from an ad, we also record basic campaign information from the link you clicked.
Why we collect it
To prepare and send your personalised property update, and — where you've agreed — to follow up about a more accurate local market appraisal. We also use aggregate, non-identifying information to understand which of our ads and pages are useful.
Who receives it
Property update and appraisal enquiries in Tauranga and the Western Bay of Plenty are handled by licensed real estate professionals from McKenzie | Parker & Co, Ray White Bayfair. We also use standard service providers (for example email delivery and website hosting) who process information on our behalf. We do not sell your details to third parties.
Providing your details is voluntary
You don't have to give us any of this information. If you'd rather not provide contact details, we simply can't prepare or send you an update. You can give us less detail about the home and still receive a broader update — it just won't be as specific.
Access and correction
Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email duncan.mckenzie@raywhite.com and we'll respond as quickly as we reasonably can.
Advertising and website analytics
When they're switched on, we use standard advertising and analytics tools such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and Google Analytics. These record things like which ad or link brought you here, the pages you view, and whether you started or finished the property update form. They use cookies or similar identifiers set by those providers. We use this to see which ads and pages are working — not to build a detailed profile of you. You can limit this through your browser settings and through your ad preferences with Meta and Google.
Ongoing market updates are a separate, optional choice
Asking for a property update is not marketing consent. Submitting the form only allows us to prepare the update you asked for and contact you about that enquiry. Ongoing local market updates and homeowner insights are sent only if you tick the separate optional box at the last step — it is unticked by default, and leaving it unticked makes no difference to the update you receive.
Opting out
You can reply to any email or text and ask us to stop contacting you. Marketing and ongoing market update emails can be opted out of at any time, and our marketing emails include an unsubscribe link. Emails that are part of a request you made — such as the property update you asked for — are sent as a direct reply to that request. If you opt out of ongoing updates you can still keep your original update.
Storage and security
Your information is stored using reputable hosting and email providers and is accessible only to the people who need it to prepare your update or respond to your enquiry. We keep enquiry records only as long as we need them for the purpose above or as required by law.
